Message from the Chair

Greeting Stakeholders,

“If you think you are leading and turn around to see no one following, then you are just
taking a walk.”

-Omega Man; Benjamin L. Hooks

I pray this message finds you and your family in the best of health and spirts!
We started our journey in 2016 at our annual chapter dinner with a challenge from Bro. Jeffery
J. Jones, Beta Psi Fall 81, stating we must do a better job of giving back to our beloved alma
mater. Ten other Omega Men joined him, and the Beta Psi 1923 Foundation was started. We
introduced ourselves to our community with a Homecoming 2018 with a “pledge” of
$100,000.00! We completed three years ahead of our goal. In 2020 we launched a Unity Brick
Campaign gathering alumni from 234 cities, 36 states and six countries that turn a section of
our campus into a patchwork quilt of memories, that campaign raised over $125,000.00.

On behalf of the Board of directors I proud to share our accomplishments “THUS FAR”

  1. Dr. Moses C. Norman Sr. Endowment - $305,000.00

  2. Dr. Gideon K. Mincey Memorial Scholarship - $34,000.00

  3. Male Scholarship initiative- $8,700.00

  4. CAU Emergency Campaign - $2,500.00

  5. Covid-19 (Board Donation) - $1,600.00

Total Donations “GIVEN” to CAU Over- $350,000.00

On December 22, 1923, just a generation after slavey fourteen student leaders, under the
leadership of Biology and Economics Professor, J. P. Murchison at Clark University came
together to charter Beta Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. The twenty fifth chapter of our legendary fraternity and the 1st Greek lettered organization on the Clark University's campus. These are our “Bridge Builders” that have set the example’s for our chapter and our
Board of Directors to follow.

As Beta Psi Chapter celebrates “100 Years of Greatness, we will be saluting our Centennial this
entire year with a few fund-raising events culminating with a “ROYAL PURPLE”-Tie Gala on
Saturday December 2, 2023, at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, Ga.

Let’s continue to support our school on the hill – Clark Atlanta University

Have a joyous and prosperous 2023!
